PLEASE NOTE: It may be a Mac-Windows issue, or maybe it’s because I’m in Tokyo and Guy’s in San Francisco, but for some people the video was displaying upside-down. Therefore I have tried to upload it to several different sites. If one does not display properly for you, please try another.
On Thursday April 14, I had the privilege of interviewing Guy Kawasaki about his new book Enchantment.
A New York Times Bestseller, Enchantment is endorsed by Founder of the Virgin Group Sir Richard Branson, Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak, author of Influence Robert B. Caldini, Social Media Expert Michael Steltzner, and a host of others who have certainly enchanted the world with their own innovative products and services.
A remarkable book by a remarkable man, whose smile is disarming and whose insights are profound and rich in metaphor. Yet you feel you are talking with an old friend.
“The best overall treatise on interpersonal relationships since Dale Carnegie wrote
How to Win Friends and Influence People.”— Michael Gartenberg, Research Director, Gartner
Talking with Guy Kawasaki, it is easy to see why.
Guy’s “Official” BIO reads as follows:
Guy Kawasaki is the co-founder of Alltop.com, an “online magazine rack” of popular topics on the web, and a founding partner at Garage Technology Ventures. Previously, he was the chief evangelist of Apple. Kawasaki is the author of ten books including Enchantment, Reality Check, The Art of the Start, Rules for Revolutionaries, How to Drive Your Competition Crazy, Selling the Dream, and The Macintosh Way. Kawasaki has a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA as well as an honorary doctorate from Babson College.
But the real fascination I found in speaking with him is that this Guy is on to something BIG. He cuts through the nonsense of convention, yet his arguments require little persuasion because they are convincing in their own right. Or perhaps rather they just speak directly to your own intuition and experience. But they also generate excitement, enthusiasm, and Enchantment.
You feel that the first thing you want to do is master how to apply these principles to your own personal and professional life.
Guy Kawasaki’s infographic for Enchantment gives you a graphical view of the contents, so I’ll say no more. Just listen to the interview, and get a copy of his book. Some of it is bound to rub off.
Thank you Guy, for a fantastically fun interview! We hope to get you to Japan someday soon.
